Strong
Roots for
a Stronger Charleston

Charleston County Council District 9

I’m not running to build a political career.
I’m running to build a stronger Charleston.

We deserve leadership that strengthens our roots, protects our land, supports our families, safeguards our property, and preserves what makes Charleston home.

Meet Jaxie

I'm running for Charleston County Council District 9

I’m Jaxie — and I’ve never set out to be a politician.

As a mother and as a social worker, I feel a responsibility, not just a desire, to step forward. My profession requires that I advocate for children, families, and communities. My heart requires the same.

I live on James Island with my husband of 12 years, our four-year-old son, and our two hound dogs. Like so many families on Kiawah, Seabrook, Folly and James Island, we want a future that is stable, safe, and strong.

And that’s why I’m running.

Issues

Strong Land.
Stronger Protection.

Growth in our district is outpacing our natural protections. Strong land means stronger protection for our homes, our property values, and our investment in the future of our community.

Strong Infrastructure. Stronger Communities.

Traffic, overwhelmed drainage systems, and infrastructure that hasn’t kept pace with development are daily frustrations. Better planning ensures our community doesn't buckle under pressure.

Strong Finances. Stronger Households.

Rising costs, from insurance to property taxes, are squeezing families and retirees. Strong fiscal leadership keeps Charleston affordable and protects the people who built this community.

Strong Transportation. Stronger Workforce.

CARTA reliability impacts workers, businesses, and traffic congestion. When public transit fails, it impacts everyone. A strong public transportation system supports a strong economy.

Strong Relationships. Stronger Representation.

Too often, residents feel disconnected from decisions that directly impact their neighborhoods. Growth decisions and spending priorities should never surprise the people they affect.
