Meet Jaxie
I’m Jaxie — and I’ve never set out to be a politician.
I’ve always been drawn to service. When I was 11 years old, I organized neighbors to help save a duck pond in Summerville. It may have seemed small to some, but to me it mattered — because community matters. Protecting what we love matters.
That instinct never left me.
Whether serving as Beta Club president at Stratford High School, being a member of the Dean's Advisory Committee in graduate school, volunteering in my church youth group and leading worship, or pursuing my Master’s in Social Work to serve vulnerable families, my life has been rooted in one calling: strengthening the people and places around me.
That’s what brings me here today.

As a mother, and as a social worker, I feel a responsibility, not just a desire, to step forward. My profession requires that I advocate for children, families, and communities. My heart requires the same.
I hold an Artium Baccalaureatus degree in Psychology from the College of Charleston and a Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina. I was honored to be selected by the faculty as the Graduate Student Achievement Award recipient for my cohort. I am also a Certified Case Manager and hold a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornell University.
But my most important title is Mom.
I live on James Island with my husband of 12 years, our four-year-old son, and our two hound dogs. Like so many families on Kiawah, Seabrook, Folly and James Island, we want a future that is stable, safe, and strong.
And that’s why I’m running.
Because growth without planning weakens us.
Because flooding without solutions weakens us.
Because decisions made without community input weaken us.
We deserve leadership that strengthens our roots, protects our land,
supports our families, safeguards our property, and preserves what
makes Charleston home.
I’m not running to build a political career.
I’m running to build a stronger Charleston.
Strong Roots for a Stronger Charleston.

Help Build a Stronger Charleston
We deserve leadership that strengthens our roots here in Charleston by protecting our land, supporting our families, safeguarding our property, and preserving what makes Charleston home.
